Louise is preparing to leave Eric for Pierre Landrieu, a man twice her age. Eric drops by to pick up Edouard and Lotte at Gloria's; she is a professional in public relations. He arrives during a full-blown drama: Gloria has been invaded by Josef, her husband, who piles his stock of clothing in his wife's office; Edouard has an argument with Lotte whom he accuses of having slept with Roman. Eric takes Edouard and Lotte away. He wants to buy a pair of evening shoes for Louise in a shop where Vera, a beautiful American, works. Eric tries to kiss Vera. She lets him but slaps Eric even so. That same evening, Edouard is host on a radio programme where he works with Eric and Lotte. Louise arrives. She announces to Eric that she is leaving him for Landrieu....
